Okay, so how was your morning? Mine, kinda shitty, literally. I'm staying at my good friend Michelle's house, looking after her dog Mickey and her cat (aptly named Poopoos) and having a grand old time on Day 2 of 30. Woke up, shoved the cat off my face, let the dog out with his food, made the first attempt at making coffee with the space machine in the kitchen (?), all was normalish. Mickey barked to come in, having finished his food and partially frozen his tail off (side bar, what the minus 30 degrees is going on!!??!!). Great time to sit down and watch a bit of TV while my coffee brewed. Cat is happily sleeping on the pillow, dog pacing around with his chew toy. Then it starts to smell. Dog prances in front of me with a delightful trail of poo following him across the living room floor. Awesome! It's 7:30am and there is poop on the floor. Mickey is promptly whisked outside, cat shooed away from the growing aroma, paper towel located and put to use. Poop flushed and cleaning spray applied. Shower time for me! I get out of the shower and attempt to get dressed while the dog is barking his face off outside- I'm thinking 'the neighbours are gonna love this'. I take a quick look around for any poop I might have missed, then go outside to retrieve the dog (in my towel of course and a pair of pants). Just as I throw a sweater over my head the doorbell rings. Super! The dog goes nuts then heads for the cat litter (his fav treat to eat, yum). I struggle with the dog and door to the cat litter room, while mystery doorbell-ringer stands outside in the cold. Finally dog and litter under control, I check to make sure I actually am dressed, then open the door. Sure enough, it is the neighbour. Concerned as to why poor Mickey is barking his head off outside in the cold. Well, don't I look like the best dog-sitter in the world. I'm certain Miss Neighbour can smell the freshness in the air of the now-flushed poop, but just in case, I inform her that I was just cleaning up before the dog shuffled through his own mess in the house. I'm certain I have made her morning at least half as enjoyable as mine!
Can't wait until tomorrow!

Wang Chung - Dance Hall Days (indeed)
I am constantly reminded of how freakishly funny this song is! Thanks BOB for playing this song on your station on regular rotation. Makes me howl with laughter, then want to fight someone.
Take your baby by the hand
And make her do a high handstand
Take your baby by the heel
And do the next thing that you feel
We were so in phase
In our dance hall days
We were cool on craze
When I, you and everyone we knew
Could believe, do, and share in what was true
Oh, I said
Dance hall, dance hall
Dance hall days
Take your baby by the hair
And pull her close and there there there
Take your baby by the ears
And play upon her darkest fears
We were so in phase
In our dance hall days
We were cool on craze
When I, you and everyone we knew
Could believe, do, and share in what was true
Oh, I said
Dance hall, dance hall
Dance hall days
So take your baby by the wrist
And in her mouth an amethyst
And in her eyes two sapphires blue
And you need her and she needs you
And you need her and she needs you
We were so in phase
In our dance hall days
We were cool on craze
When I, you and everyone we knew
Could believe, do, and share in what was true
Oh, I said Dance hall days love

Christmas memories...I think.

Long-lost VBers, Heather, Liz and Maureen, reconnect at VB Doug's spectacular Christmas party. Good times were had by all...in fact, I don't actually recall when this picture was captured. Think it was before I ripped my nylons on broken glass, and before I was burnt by some random's cigarette whilst cleaning up beer bottles. Yeah, good times...
Awww Shucks, thanks girls!
Wow, what an awesome welcome from my fellow recruiters! As usual, you MPPC'ers are pretty much the best people in the world. I too look forward to spying on y'all, and now that I'm house/dog sitting for the next month, I'll have lots of extra time to play around on my site!
Question: Do you think I should make up some business cards offering my dog sitting expertise? I'm thinking "Sit n' Stay" would be an appropriate working title. Like, "Liz Kaye will Sit n' Stay with your pups while you're Away...ahm, yeah, that's right, pretty slick!

Procrastination 1 ('cause ya know there will be more to come!)
Time to start, the first month of 2007 has not expired. Still not any closer to my New Year's resolution of actually printing all of my pictures off my computer! Quite a daunting task really, as I do take a ridiculous amount of pictures at random events (mostly in a drunken stupour) and laugh when I download them with confusion...
Maybe February will be the time...
